Going to Carolina in my mind

Hey everyone!! Welcome back to the blog, it’s been a hot second. This quarter has been insanely busy, and the time has gone by so fast. I can’t believe it’s week seven already! Only three weeks left until spring break *heart eyes, heart eyes, cowboy emoji*!! Even though I’ve had an incredible amount of homework and my Friday nights have mostly been spent locked up at home furiously working on projects, it’s still been a really fun quarter. The highlight of this quarter so far was our trip to Charleston! Since we had MLK day off we decided to take advantage of our long weekend and spend a couple of days playing around in Charleston. We did the same thing last year and wanted to start making it an annual girls trip. Just like last year, we pretty much just shopped all day, ate at the best restaurants, hit all of the tourist-y sites, and spent wayyy too much money. We stayed in the funnest little air bnb. It was basically just a camper set up in someone’s backyard, but it was super duper cute and they had a tree house and a fire pit and it was right on the river. We got overexcited about the tree house for being three 20 year old girls, but it was really fun!! Charleston is only about a two and a half hour drive from Savannah so it was just a quick drive there and back. And I’m seriously considering just driving up there every weekend from now on, because it’s really close and it’s sooo much fun!

My outfits for this trip were really over the top, per usual, and people were constantly making comments about my crazy outfits. They weren’t any more exciting than usual, but Charleston is a little fishing city full of retired people who only wear Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines. So to see three girls not wearing preppy polo shirts and badly patterned skirts must have quite the sight! All kidding aside, these are some of my favorite outfits from the year so far. Both the checkered coat and the black fur coat are ones that I made, and I’m really happy with how they turned out! The red and yellow look was so fun and sunshine-y, and my friends both wore red and yellow too, and I swear we were stopped like every five seconds by a local making a comment about our outfits hahaha we were quite the sight. The red and yellow look is almost entirely from Free People and you can find the Rolling stones tee shirt here . The sweater and skirt from the blue and black outfit are both from ASOS, and the skirt from my checkered coat outfit is from Madewell (and it’s my favorite go-to skirt so please don’t be mad at how much I wear it, thanks.)

Also, as you probably know, I’m a big foodie and love trying new restaurants and new foods in every city. So I thought I’d include my favorite restaurants from Charleston in case y’all ever find yourselves down here and in desperate need of good eats. For dinner we love Poogan’s Porch, Fleet’s Landing, and Henry’s. For breakfast/brunch we recommend Magnolia’s, 82 Queen, and three little birds. And for dessert, there’s no question, you have to go to Kaminsky’s!!! It’s a dessert cafe on Market street that I have a love affair with, and we have a habit of spending way too much time and money there. But I mean c’mon… they have cookie dough pie.

Okay, that’s it for today. It’s been a short post but if you knew the amount of homework I have to do tonight, you would throw up for me.

Hasta La Pasta 🙂
